Renault has released the first teaser video of the 2019 Clio. The company will take the wraps off the all-new model later today.

The Renault Clio will enter its fifth generation with the launch of the new model. The French supermini will adopt a sharper design with some inspiration from the Renault Symbioz concept from IAA 2017. It could feature the concept's signature design elements like V-shaped front grille housing the Renault diamond and C-shaped front and rear lights.

The Renault Clio Mk5 will have a remarkably improved interior, with a much better design, upgraded technologies, and higher quality materials. Renault aims to make its cars’ interior as appealing as the exterior, its design chief Laurens van den Acker has said.

The 2019 Renault Clio will have some influences of the Renault Symbioz concept in its design.

In 2015, Nissan had announced that the next-gen Nissan Juke is the first model to be confirmed for the CMF-B platform. However, it will be the next-gen Renault Clio that will be the first model from the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance to be based on the CMF-B platform. There are two versions of the CMF-B platform: CMF-B LS (Low Specifications) and CMF-B HS (High Specifications). Targeted mainly at developed markets, the all-new Renault Clio will likely utilise the latter.

The fully redesigned Renault Clio is expected to be offered with a variety of conventional engines, including a revised 0.9-litre TCe turbocharged three-cylinder unit and the all-new 1.3-litre TCe turbocharged unit co-developed with Daimler. For reduced fuel consumption and emissions, Renault will offer a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
