Mercedes-Benz is readying a mid-life update for the GLC, which made its debut in June 2015. The 2019 Mercedes GLC was spotted on public roads for the first time and captured on film by Walko-Art. The spy video confirms that updates to the exterior will be mild.
The front end will house a set of new headlamps. Full LED units are likely to be offered. The video reveals the new LED signature running along the outer edge of the headlight cluster, and the new turn indicator's glow pattern. The GLC facelift test mule wears 5-spoke alloy wheels.
Spy shots of the rear of the 2019 Mercedes GLC reveal a new bumper design. While it continues to be a two-tone affair, the reflectors have slipped downwards. Although not viewable, chrome exhaust tips could be part of the package depending on the grade selected. Also new are the tail light clusters with revised geometry. In place of the current split LED signature, the turn indicators sit below the primary stop lamps.
Mercedes will bring updates to the interior as well. As per mbpassionblog, the display for the infotainment system will be slightly wider. As is the case with the new C-Class, the instrumentation will switch to a fully-digital setup. A new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls is likely to make it to the MY2019 GLC.
Changes to the powertrain will become known closer to the launch of the 2019 Mercedes GLC. Expect the C300's new 2.0 L petrol engine to make it to the GLC. Merc's new OM654 2.0 L diesel is likely to be employed on the crossover.
