Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has unveiled the 2018 iteration of its bread-and-butter model, the Honda Activa 5G. Here are the scooter’s live images from the show.
The Honda Activa 5G gets subtle upgrades over the previous generation scooter. It now comes with a new Deluxe variant. The new variant features digital-analogue instrument cluster with ECO speed indicator and Service Due Indicator; full LED Headlamp and position lamp, which Honda claims is industry-first in any 110cc two-wheeler. The Activa 5G also features a new front chrome garnish. The scooter is available in two new colours: Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red. Other features include front hook; 4-in-1 lock with seat opener switch and retractable rear hook; and a more durable metal muffler protector.
The mechanicals are the same as the previous generation Activa. The tried-and-tested 109.19 cc HET engine makes 8 bhp at 7,500 rpm; and 9 Nm at 5,500 rpm. With the variomatic transmission, the scooter can reach a claimed top speed of 83 kmph. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Cycle parts are still the same link-type front suspension and a single rear shock absorber. The scooter comes to a halt using 130 mm drum brakes on both ends, with Combined Braking System (CBS). At the Activa Legacy Zone, Honda is also showcasing the how the Activa model changed over the last 17 years.
