India Yamaha Motor has showcased the 2018 Yamaha MT-10 at the 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Here are the naked bike’s live images from the show.
The Yamaha MT-10 is the Japanese brand’s flagship offering under the Hyper Naked motorcycle range. With the catchphrase ‘Ray of Darkness’, the motorcycle sure looks the part with numerous cuts and slashes in its bodywork. The bike on display sports the ‘Matte Grey’ paint scheme on the body, with contrasting fluorescent green wheels. The riding position is upright, with a forward lean; and the instrument cluster is a multifunction LCD unit.
The Yamaha MT-10 derives its engine, chassis and suspension from the YZF-R1. The 998cc 4-cylinder crossplane DOHC engine sits inside the lightweight aluminium Deltabox frame. Working with a 6-speed gearbox, the mill makes 160.4 PS at 11,500 rpm and 111 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The gearbox features assist and slipper clutch and Quick Shifter System (QSS) as well. Electronic highlights include traction control and a three-level Yamaha D-mode system.
The front end comes with a 43 mm upside-down cartridge type forks and the rear features a link-type monoshock. Both front and rear suspension are fully adjustable. Brakes include 320 mm dual discs at the front and single 220 mm rear disc. The Yamaha MT-10 costs USD 12,999 in the US market.
