2018 Mercedes C-Class (facelift) officially revealed
Sagar Parikh, I'm the international news editor at IndianAutosBlog.com. I love everything that has a steering wheel!
The fourth generation Mercedes C-Class arrived in December 2013 and has received a mid-cycle update for MY2018. The 2018 Mercedes C-Class will have its world premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show next month.
The facelifted Mercedes C-Class features redesigned front bumper with either a silver trim strip, a chrome-plated trim strip or a three-part chrome strip, Multibeam LED headlamps with ultra range high beam, redesigned bumper with a new lower section and tweaked LED tail lamps with sharp C-shaped signature. The 2018 Mercedes C-Class AMG Line now features a diamond radiator grille as standard, an AMG front bumper with a new geometry and a newly designed rear diffuser.
Inside, the 2018 Mercedes C-Class adopts the display concept of the Mercedes S-Class. The mid-cycle refresh has brought a 12.3-inch HD virtual instrument cluster to the car, albeit as an option. Buyers will have the option to specify a new 10.25-inch central display for the COMAND infotainment system in the new model. There’s a new multifunction leather steering wheel with touch-sensitive buttons. New interior colours include magma grey/black and saddle brown (AMG Line).
For the improved comfort and wellness of the passengers, the company will offer Energizing comfort control optionally in the new model. Energizing comfort control links various comfort systems and systematically uses the functions of the climate control system and the seats, as well as lighting and musical moods, and enables a customised wellness set-up as per the mood and need of the customer.
The updated Mercedes C-Class can drive semi-autonomously. It also uses map and navigation data for assistance functions. Active Lane Change Assist and Active Emergency Stop Assist are the new functions of Active Steering Assist.
The 2018 Mercedes C-Class will go on sale in Europe later this year. In the U.S., the company will launch the facelifted model by late 2018. The U.S.-spec version has gained a new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 255 hp and 273 lb.-ft. (370 Nm) of torque and 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission.
