Audi Sport is working on a hotter variant of the Audi Q2 called Audi SQ2. An image of the company’s future product roadmap confirms that the Audi SQ2 will debut this year.
The Audi SQ2 will have a sportier exterior with a distinctive radiator Singleframe grille, bigger air vents, revised lower intake, more aggressive bumpers and quad exhaust outlets. Inside, it may have S-specific trim and upholstery and sports seat and steering wheel among other changes. The S variant may have a firmer S sport suspension that lowers the ride height and enhancements to the steering and exhaust system.
The Audi SQ2 is expected to sport the 2.0-litre TFSI engine of the Audi S3. This turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine produces 228 PS at 5,800-6,500 rpm and 380 Nm of torque from 1,850-5,700 rpm. Transmission choices may include 6-speed manual and 7-speed S ironic dual-clutch automatic. The SQ2 should have the Quattro permanent AWD system as standard.
