PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), the Indonesian subsidiary of Suzuki, showcased the Suzuki Ertiga Sport concept at the GIIAS 2018 earlier in the month. Below are a few images and video of the family van.
Based on the all-new 2018 Ertiga, the MPV was stylized with a new honeycomb grille with a red highlight, smoked headlights, a full body kit with front underlip spoiler, larger and sportier alloy wheels, side skirts, rear underlip spoiler with skid plate and a rear bootlid spoiler.
There were no changes to the interior or the mechanicals of the MPV. In a statement, SIS president and director, Seiji Itayama, said that his designers came out with vehicles that have an "expressive, stylish look, and reflect the freedom and the owner's personality." Suzuki showcased Sport concepts on the Ertiga, Ignis, and Baleno at the show. These will materialize in the form of "special edition car variants, accessories and parts", the company stated.
The 2018 Ertiga is expected in the Indian market by the end of this year. It will be powered by the 1.5-liter K15B VVT four-cylinder petrol engine which makes its Indian debut on the 2018 Maruti Ciaz this month. Offering 103 bhp and 138 Nm of torque on the sedan, this engine is likely to be coupled with the SHVS smart-hybrid system for improved fuel economy on the MPV. Transmission choices are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic, similar to the Indonesian market.
