IndianAutosBlog.com learns that the updated version of the second generation MU-X will launch in India on 16 October 2018. The 2018 Isuzu MU-X (facelift) will feature many cosmetic changes and a few additional features. A 1.9-litre turbocharged diesel engine will reportedly power the new model.

The Isuzu MU-X facelift was unveiled just three months before the pre-facelift MU-X was launched in India.

The 2018 Isuzu MU-X sports an updated front bumper with chrome accents around the fog lamps. The LED DRLs are now incorporated into the Bi-LED headlamps. The grille has been mildly redesigned with stronger creases around the edges. At the rear, a new lower bumper moulding and new LED taillights bring freshness. The side profile remains mostly untouched, with the only disparity arising from the new 18-inch alloy wheels instead of the 17-inch units.

The most significant update on the inside is the introduction of an updated dashboard and door panels. The cleaner look of the centre console lends the MU-X a significantly more premium appeal. The current 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been replaced with a new 8-inch unit that will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood, the 3.0-liter 4JJ1-TCX four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine will be replaced with the company's 'BluePower' 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC oil-burner. While the current motor outputs 177 PS and 380 Nm, the smaller unit offers 164 PS and 360 Nm. The introduction of the small powerplant will help the SUV achieve BSVI-compliance. The 2018 Isuzu MU-X will be available with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4WD.
