The 2018 Hyundai Verna 1.4L petrol is officially available to order in India now. The 1.4-litre petrol engine is the third engine option for the new generation Hyundai Verna.
The 2018 Hyundai 1.4L petrol is powered by the same engine we had speculated. It’s the Kappa 1.4-litre MPi four-cylinder unit that produces 100 PS at 6,000 rpm and 13.5 kg.m (132.39 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. It is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard.
Keeping things basic, Hyundai offers the Verna 1.4L petrol in only the E and EX grades. The E grade features halogen headlamps, chrome front grille surround, body coloured bumpers, ORVMs and door handles, power adjustment for the ORVMs, 15-inch steel wheels, dual-tone rear bumper, dual-tone beige & black interior, metal-finish interior door handles and chrome coated parking lever tip. On the safety front, dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD are standard.
The EX grade adds features like chrome front grille slats, chrome window belt line and Shark fin antenna on the outside. Comfort, convenience and safety additions include keyless entry, cloth door centre trim, matte chrome interior door handles, automatic climate control, driver seat height adjustment, front armrest, rear AC vents, 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Arkamys sound system, steering-mounted audio & Bluetooth controls, Hyundai iblue audio remote application, auto up-down driver power window, USB charger (front & rear), cruise control, automatic headlamps, reverse parking sensors and rear camera.

With the introduction of the 1.4L petrol engine, Hyundai no longer offers the 1.6-litre petrol engine in the E grade. The 1.6-litre petrol engine is still available in the EX grade, but not with a 6-speed manual transmission anymore. The 2018 Hyundai Verna 1.4L petrol is not considerably cheaper. It costs INR 7,79,990 in the E grade and INR 9,09,990 in the EX grade. Clearly, Verna 1.6L petrol (MT) buyers were at an advantage, as retailing at INR 7,99,990* (E)/INR 9,29,990* (EX), it was only INR 20,000* more expensive.
