Boon Siew Honda, Honda’s authorised distributor in Malaysia has launched the updated 2018 Honda CB500F in the country. Prices start from RM 31,681 (INR 499,583.66) including GST, and excluding road tax, insurance, and registration.
The 2018 Honda CB500F features fresh graphics for a sportier look. Honda has designed the CB500F based on the ‘Mechanical and aggressive’ concept. The bike is available in three colours: Candy Caribbean Blue, Candy Chromosphere Red, and Force Silver Metallic. While the engine and the steel diamond-tube frame remain the same as the 2017 version, the headlight and tail lamp are now LED.
The 2018 Honda CB500F draws power from a 471 cc parallel twin DOHC mill. The engine produces 50.3 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. A six-speed gearbox does duty on the naked bike. The fuel tank can hold 16.7 litres and, as per WMTC mode, the fuel efficiency stands at 29.4 km/l.
The front telescopic fork features adjustable preload, and the rear gets a pro-link monoshock with 9-stage preload adjustment. Brakes include petal discs on both ends, with dual-channel ABS as an option. The 2018 Honda CB500F will be available January 2018 onwards. The ABS variant costs RM 34,861.28 (INR 549,734), including GST. The motorcycle comes with two years or 20,000 km manufacturing warranty (whichever comes first).
