Honda is all set to launch the second generation Amaze on May 16, 2018. Unveiled at the Auto Expo earlier this year in February, the 2018 Honda Amaze arrives with petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic transmission options.
The 2018 Honda Amaze borrows from the latest iterations of products like the Honda Accord, Civic, and Insight. It gets the "Solid Wing Face" up front incorporating an upright grille and headlamp setup. The headlamps feature LED light guides. The rear gets split tail lamps and the portion on the boot lid is purely ornamental. The Amaze rides on 15-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the dashboard is finished in black and beige with piano black inserts. Top-end VX grade gets a floating Digipad 2.0 touchscreen, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The features list also includes automatic climate control, cruise control, paddle shifters (petrol CVT only), request sensor for keyless entry, electrically adjustable and electric folding ORVM, rear parking sensors with camera, fog lamps, dual front airbags, and ABS with EBD.
The 2018 Honda Amaze gets two engine options – 1.2 L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5 L i-DTEC diesel. Both engines can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The petrol manual and CVT variants have a power and torque output of 90 PS and 110 Nm respectively. While the diesel manual has an output of 100 PS and 200 Nm, the diesel CVT’s power and torque figures are lower by 20 PS and 40 Nm at 80 PS and 160 Nm.
