Kawasaki India has teased its middleweight cruiser offering, the Kawasaki Vulcan S in its official site. The banner bears the words ‘Coming Soon’.
It is likely that the Vulcan S will enter our shores via the CKD route in order to keep the costs competitive. The Kawasaki Vulcan S features a laidback cruiser design, with low seat. The design of the frame, rear suspension and swingarm create an integrated line running from the front of the bike to the rear hub. A pipe frame of high-tensile steel gives the bike a lightweight appearance. The instrument cluster is an analogue-digital combo unit.

Powering the Kawasaki Vulcan S is a 649cc DOHC twin cylinder engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine is capable of generating 60 PS of power, and 63 Nm of torque at 6,600 rpm. The engine works in tandem with a 6-speed transmission with positive neutral finder.
A 41 mm telescopic front fork; and an offset rear monoshock with adjustable preload hold the diamond frame. The 18-inch front and the 17-inch rear are shod with 120 and 160-section rubber respectively. Brakes include a 300 mm disc at the front, and a 250 mm rear disc, both with ABS.
