The Yamaha R15 v3.0 was introduced internationally earlier this year. Now, the company has brought the all-new R15 in India for local testing, spy shots published by BikeAdvice.in have revealed.
The Yamaha R15 v3.0 is 1,990 mm long, 725 mm wide and 1,135 mm tall. The third generation R3 has a 1,325 mm wheelbase. It offers a ground clearance of 155 mm and has a seat height of 815 mm. Tipping the scales at 137 kg, the R15 V3.0 is lightweight, but its fuel tank capacity is only 11 litres.
The Yamaha R15 v3.0 sports the new 155.1 cc VVA single-cylinder engine. The liquid-cooled, fuel-injected mill produces 19.31 PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. Internationally, it has inverted front forks. In India, though, Yamaha likely won’t offer them to keep the costs low, the spy shot suggests. 282 mm (front)/240 mm (rear) disc brakes give the stopping power. ABS is still a miss.

Noteworthy features of the Yamaha R15 v3.0 include LED headlamps, LED tail lamp, assist and slipper clutch, fully digital instrument cluster and shift light (gearshift indicator). Yamaha should launch the Yamaha R15 V3.0 in India sometime in 2018. The redesigned R15’s prices could start in the INR 1.20-1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
