Royal Enfield exports jump by 97.6% in October year on year - Report

The export business of Royal Enfield in the month of October grew by 97.6%, year on year reports Zee Business.

Last month, Royal Enfield’s total sales went up by 18% year on year. The company despatched 69,492 units as opposed to 59,127 units in the same month the previous year. Coming to the exports, in October, the company managed to sell 1,478 against 748 units (97.6% growth) in the same month last year.

The niche motorcycle brand’s sub 350cc bike sales also grew by 18%, selling 65,209 in October; compared to 55,188 in the same period last year. Exports witnessed a 9% improvement from 3,939 units in October 2016 to 4,283 units in the same month this year. The company recently entered the Vietnamese market and opened a flagship store in the country. It is also reportedly getting the Himalayan certified to meet market regulations in the USA, and is planning to launch the Euro 4 Himalayan in France in January 2018.

Royal Enfield enhanced the 350cc and 500cc Classic Range by introducing new variants. The brand is also working on a 750cc parallel twin motorcycle that is due for launch in this financial year. The bike is likely to debut on November 7 at the 2017 EICMA.
