The Honda Grom was spied testing in India this month.

Commenting on the spotting of the two-wheelers on Indian soil, Y S Guleria, HMSI Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, told the media house:

Testing a certain product doesn't always mean that we intend to launch that particular product here. As far as these reports are concerned, there are times when we test certain components or certain parts of a particular product here, and it may not necessarily be that same product which will be launched. Any testing which is happening in India probably may not be only for that model. There are sometimes some technology, some specifications, some features, so it's an ongoing process. So I would request not to read too much into it, and say that a similar kind of model would be launched in the market.

According to the report, Honda states that two new products will be launched in India - a motorcycle and a scooter. It could be possible that the two products may share components with the two test mules that were recently spotted.

The Honda Scoopy is currently on sale in the Indonesian market.

However, the launch timeline is unknown. Expect Honda to make an announcement regarding the same in the coming months. The two new products, and Honda’s recent production expansion in Karnataka will help the brand realising its goal of achieving 6 million unit sales target this financial year.
