IAB reader 'AJ' has snapped the 2018 Range Rover Sport (facelift) test mule parked on the streets of Frankfurt, Germany. It does feature a full camouflage body wrap, but there are some noticeable new details.

Based on what we observed around the test mule, the new Range Rover Sport will feature Velar-inspired LED headlamps with sharper LED highlights, revised mesh grille with no slats, RR Sport SVR-inspired bumper design with larger air inlets, new alloy wheel designs, revised LED-powered taillamps and a redesigned rear bumper with diffuser elements.

The interior was completely covered up, but we reckon that it could feature an adaptation of the RR Velar's futuristic design. The central touchscreen system could be replaced with the Velar's unit that folds out, the climate control may be integrated into a touchscreen below the display, and the driver's instrument display could be refined. Also expect new choices of upholstery, trim and an updated Meridian Surround audio system.

Engine lineup is likely to remain unchanged. Base models can be had with a 3.0L V6 supercharged petrol or 3.0L SDV6 turbodiesel. Higher up the range, customers can pick the 4.4L SDV8 turbodiesel or the 5.0L V8 supercharged petrol. The range-topping Range Rover Sport SVR will feature the same 5.0L V8 supercharged petrol, but with power upped to 567 bhp. All models will be fitted with an 8-speed automatic and 4WD + Terrain Response system as standard.
