The 2017 Maruti S-Cross' launch is expected in the coming weeks. Ahead of that, a report from CarToq reveals some of the changes and specifications of the facelift.
The 2017 Maruti S-Cross will sell in the same grades as now: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Zeta and Alpha grades will feature new 16-inch precision-cut alloy wheels. The new S-Cross will have wider (215 mm) tyres. While the outgoing model has HID projector headlamps, the facelifted model will have LED projector headlamps. Again, only the top two grades will enjoy these features.
With the facelift, the Maruti Ciaz's Stargaze Blue will replace the Urban Blue body colour. The Smartplay infotainment system will feature inbuilt Android Auto compatibility.
Visual changes to the Maruti S-Cross will mainly revolve around the exterior. Redesigned headlamps and new hood crease lines lend more aggression to the crossover's face. The new chrome grille with vertical slats makes the vehicle look more premium. Complementing these changes is a remodelled bumper lending some freshness to the chin. At the back, the tail lamp graphics are new.

With the facelift, Maruti Suzuki will discontinue the 88 kW (117.96 hp) 1.6-litre DDiS 320 diesel engine option. The 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine will continue. This unit currently produces 66 kW (88.47 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque 1,750 rpm and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki has reportedly added SHVS and has recalibrated the powertrain to improve the mileage from 23.65 km/l to 25.1 km/l. A petrol option or an automatic transmission is not planned, as per a recent report.
