The Maruti S-Cross is currently available with 1.3- and 1.6-litre diesel engines. According to a report from Overdrive, Maruti Suzuki won't offer the 1.6-litre diesel option in the 2017 Maruti S-Cross (facelift) due this year.
Maruti Suzuki has stopped production of the Maruti S-Cross with the 1.6-litre diesel engine. Dealerships are no longer taking orders for the 1.6L diesel. However, not all outlets are out of stock, so for those still interested, this is the last chance to buy one. The discontinuation is in response to the sluggish sales of this configuration. Available only in the range-topping Alpha grade, the S-Cross 1.6L diesel costs INR 11,66,612 (ex-showroom Delhi).
While the 1.6-litre engine will get discontinued, the mid-cycle refresh may bring a petrol engine option to the Maruti S-Cross, but there is still no clarity on this aspect. A likely petrol engine is the M15A 1.5-litre VVT unit that produces 109 PS and 138 Nm of torque. Suzuki already offers this petrol engine in the Indonesian-spec (SX4) S-Cross, with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission choices. If cost isn't a concern, then the Baleno RS' K10C 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET petrol engine also holds potential.

The new Maruti S-Cross will have the same design as the Euro-spec 2017 Suzuki S-Cross introduced last year. Most changes will appear at the car's front. Except new seat upholstery and a factory-fitted Android Auto (and Apple CarPlay) compatible Smartplay infotainment system. Going by reports, bookings for the 2017 Maruti S-Cross opens 1 September, 2017, followed by a sales launch this festive season.
