The Royal Enfield Vietnam will open its first dealership in Ho Chi Minh City.
A report in MotoSaigon claims that Royal Enfield will be opening its first motorcycle showroom in Vietnam at the Saigon Paragon shopping centre in the most populous city in the country. The report says the dealership will be open for business very soon.
The company is expected to initially offer the Royal Enfield Classic, Royal Enfield Bullet and Royal Enfield Continental GT. The Classic and Bullet though may be limited to the 500 cc engine displacement models. The Royal Enfield Himalayan, the company’s latest adventure tourer, is expected to be introduced at a later date.
Royal Enfield aims to become a global market leader in the middleweight segment and the CEO Mr Siddhartha Lal had earlier confirmed that RE will be producing motorcycles in the 350 cc to 750 cc displacement bracket only. The company has also promised a completely overhauled product line-up in the next 5 years.
With the 350 cc models displaying a growth of almost 30 percent that is reliably strengthening its Indian operations, Royal Enfield has identified 4 key markets for future growth, Vietnam not one of them. Lal also confirmed bigger capacity models based of the existing product portfolio, which would be more suited on highways overseas where average vehicle speeds are high.
Royal Enfield recently opened their second direct subsidiary outside India in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
