The Hero Impulse was the first new motorcycle launched after Hero's tie-up with Honda ended.
Showcased for the first time on August 9, 2010, in London, the Hero Impulse was launched in India in October 2011. Production had been stalled for some time now due to negligible demand and Hero has finally struck the name off the official website.
The motorcycle was powered by a 149.2 cc single cylinder, air-cooled mill coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine was capable of producing 13.2 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 13.4 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The Hero Impulse traces its origins to the Honda NXR Bros sold in Brasil. The motorcycle had a long travel suspension up front with a front disc and rear drum setup.
However, enthusiasts found the bike’s 150 cc mill too small for comfort and left them desiring for more. A few dealerships (and customers) even shoehorned the 223 cc Karizma engine in the Impulse but Hero has so far refused to bring a bigger capacity dual-sport bike.

The Hero Impulse had a ground clearance of 245 mm and had a high mounted exhaust canister to take on the road not taken with confidence.
Hero is expected to launch their first 125 cc automatic scooter, the Hero Dare by September 2017.
