Kawasaki Z800 shall continue to be on sale in India for the time being.
The 2017 Kawasaki Z900 was showcased for the first time at EICMA 2016 as a replacement of the middleweight Z800.
The bike is powered by a 948 cc liquid cooled, in-line four cylinder mill which traces its origins to the Z1000. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine is capable of producing 125 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of peak torque at 7,700 rpm. With short gearing in the first 5 cogs, the 6th gear in the Kawasaki Z900 has been made as an overdrive gear.
With almost a lakh rupee premium over the Z800, the Kawasaki Z900 is 20 kg lighter and tips the scales at 210 kg. The bike is suspended over 41 mm inverted fork up front with compression and rebound damping and spring preload adjustability and a horizontal back-link monoshock with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.

Brakes in the 2017 Kawasaki Z900 include dual 300 mm petal disc in the front with opposed four piston calliper and a single 250 mm petal unit in the rear with a single piston calliper. The bike in India comes with accessories like a radiator guard, fly screen, crash protection and a tank pad.
The 2017 Kawasaki Z900 has been priced at INR 9 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
