Hyundai has launch the 2017 Hyundai Sonata (facelift in its home market, South Korea. With the facelift, the mid-size sedan gets updated styling, new equipment and sees addition of a sporty Turbo variant.
Hyundai has updated the exterior of the seventh gen Hyundai Sonata with the signature cascading grille that is flanked by narrower headlights on the top and vertical LED daytime running lights at the bottom, modified bumpers, new 18-inch alloy wheels, redesigned tail lights and wide-spaced 'SONATA' lettering on the trunk lid. The license plate holder, which was previously on the trunk lid, is now on the lower bumper.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine model gets a new identity as a sporty variant with a more aggressive styling. Up front, there's a unique mesh-pattern radiator grille, black bezel headlamps, black daytime running lights surrounds and black lower bumper. Black ORVMs and door handles on the sides and rear diffuser and dual exhaust mufflers at the rear complete the exterior styling.
Inside, the facelifted Hyundai Sonata has a new three-spoke steering wheel and 'piano key' buttons for the revised audio and HVAC controls. The Turbo variant gets a flat-bottomed steering wheel and sportier front seats and gear knob. A 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard, but an 8.0-inch AVN system is available optionally. There's availability of wireless smartphone charging at the bottom of the centre console, as well as an additional USB charging port, positioned on the rear of the centre console.

The only change in the engine and transmission aspects mentioned by Hyundai is the availability of an 8-speed automatic transmission in the 2.0-litre T-GDI engine model and paddle shifters in the 1.6-litre T-GDI model. The facelifted model will go on sale globally by mid-2017.
