Bookings for all-new Honda CR-V now open in Malaysia.
Honda introduced the 2017 Honda CR-V in Malaysia this month and will soon put it on sale. Here's a side-by-side comparison of the 2017 Honda CR-V with the 2015 Honda CR-V, courtesy Paultan.
The 2017 Honda CR-V retains the old model's proportions for an evolutionary design. At the front, the compact SUV puts on a more aggressive face with new LED headlights in a more aggressive shape, new Solid Wing grille, reshaped lower grille and a new bumper with C-shaped creases on the outer ends.
The profile sees subtle changes such as a reshaped greenhouse with bigger quarter glass, more pronounced wheel arches and new rocker panels. The side view gives a good look at the longer hood and wheelbase of the redesigned model. The rear is where the fifth and fourth generation models differ notably, with the former instantly recognisable with its L-shaped rear combination lamps featuring LED tail and brake lights. The license plate holder is now on the lower portion of the tailgate. Two more changes are the redesigned bumper and the dual exhaust setup.
Honda will sell the 2017 Honda CR-V in Malaysia only in the 5-seat version and with two engine options: 2.0-litre i-VTEC and 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo. The 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine produces 155 PS and 190 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine develops 193 PS and 243 Nm of torque. CVT is standard.

The 2017 Honda CR-V debuts the Honda SENSING suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies in the country. It consists of seven features: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). LED daytime running lights, tailgate spoiler, dual-tone alloy wheels, reverse camera and six airbags are some of the other known highlights of the all-new model.
Honda Cars India has not made an announcement, but we expect the new Honda CR-V only next year in Indian showrooms, complete with the diesel engine option and the seven-seat variant offered in Thailand.
