The Toyota Fortuner reborn as an executive lounge.
DC Design has given a lounge treatment to the newly launched Toyota Fortuner with changes to the exterior and interior of the SUV.
The chunky body cladding on the side fenders, doors and bumpers, and the scuff plate, add a rugged look to the Toyota Fortuner. The 7 seat layout has been ditched for two executive lounge seats with use of wood and chrome. Reading lamps have been provided for both the passengers and the driver’s section has been separated with a partition.
The new Toyota Fortuner was introduced in India on November 7, 2016. Starting at INR 25.92 lakhs, prices for the SUV goes up to INR 31.12 lakhs (both ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Fortuner gets a 2.8 litre GD series diesel mill capable of producing 177 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque with a 6 speed automatic unit. A 6 speed manual sees the torque fall by 30 Nm.
Toyota has also provided a 2.7 litre petrol engine option with the new Fortuner. This engine can produce 166 PS of maximum power and 245 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5 speed manual and 6 speed auto. The diesel trim is available both as a 2WD and 4WD but the petrol Fortuner will be limited to a 2WD.
