Hyundai has quietly introduced side and curtain airbags for the top-end Hyundai Elite i20 Asta (O), bringing the total count of airbags to six. It is now priced at INR 7.76 Lakhs and INR 8.99 Lakhs for petrol and diesel variants respectively (Ex-showroom Delhi), according to the company's website, though Hyundai has not sent a press note regarding this.
The manufacturer had equipped the previous i20 with side and curtain airbags in the range-topping variant but skipped the same in the Elite i20, until now. The website also states that dual front airbags will be standard across the i20 range now.
No other changes have been made to the Elite i20. The top-end Asta(O) comes with a 7-inch Audio Video Navigation system, 60:40 split rear seats and projector headlamps with cornering function.

In the coming days, Hyundai will introduce an automatic variant of the Hyundai i20, which is based on the Magna grade. It will pack a 1.4L four cylinder engine with 100 PS paired with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
