Nissan displayed the eighth generation Nissan Maxima sedan at Auto China 2016. The Japanese automaker's flagship sedan arrived on the global scene just a year ago with the complete makeover. With the full redesign, the all-new Maxima is longer, lower and lighter. It's built and sold by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture in China.
The China-spec 2016 Nissan Maxima measures 4,908 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,436/1,439 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. It's available in three grades: 2.5XE. 2.5XL and 2.5XV, with prices starting at 2.34,800 yuan. Standard across the range is the QR25 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that produces 137 kW (184 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 234 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels via the 7-speed Xtronic continuously variable transmission, operated with optional paddle shifters.
Noteworthy features of the 2016 Nissan Maxima include LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, dual exhaust pipes, heated steering wheel, leather sport seats with heating function for the front seats and power adjustment with memory function for the driver's seat, 11-speaker BOSE sound system, LED mood lighting, head-up display and an 8.0-inch touchscreen display for the the infotainment system.
