Designed by Hyundai at their Namyang design center in Korea, the Carlino features squarish taillights, large rugged wheels, suicide doors, front and rear skid plates, roof carriers, side air intakes, and sleek headlights with LED daytime running lights.
If it goes into production, the Hyundai Carlino will rival the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and the recently unveiled Maruti Vitara Brezza. It will also attract a wider audience towards Hyundai’s SUV lineup, which comprises of the soon-to-launch Hyundai Tucson, Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Santa Fe.

However, the sub-4m SUV has not been confirmed for production. In an interview, Young Key Koo, MD-CEO, Hyundai Motor India has divulged that the sub-4m SUV for India will only be made if there’s a clear demand in the market from customers.
