Bajaj Auto has unveiled the Bajaj V premium commuter at an event in New Delhi today. It is marketed as a niche product in the commuter segment that offers a high level of uniqueness and practicality in long distance commuting. The Bajaj V will be priced between INR 60-70,000 (ex-showroom), likely close to INR 60,000 as said by Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto during the press conference. The deliveries will commence in March, by when the actual price will be announced. Production will begin on February 5.
The Bajaj V is powered by the familiar 150 cc single-cylinder air-cooled DTS-i engine, but is tuned to produce 13 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.
The Bajaj V is a front-heavy motorcycle based on a double-cradle chassis, that is equipped with five double-spoke cast aluminium alloy wheel of 18-inch diameter upfront and 16-inch at the rear, and wide profile tyres.
The other features include a disc brake at the front, a drum brake at the rear, a 60 W headlamp, an LED taillamp, a 33 mm diameter fork with a dust cover, wide handlebar, premium textured seat, etched INS Vikrant insignia on fuel tank and a premium instrumentation panel with colour changing LED indication. The Bajaj V is offered in two colours – Ebony Black and Pearl White.
