Volkswagen adds more options to enhance appeal of the Golf Cabriolet.
Volkswagen has unveiled the 2016 VW Golf Cabriolet at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt. It gets mild updates for the year 2016.
It features a revised front bumper, prominent side sills and sporty touches on the rear bumper. VW has introduced more options for personalization, with six new body colours, six new wheel designs and a new colour for the fabric roof.
The interior is updated with a new multifunction steering wheel, better trim elements and new design for the cloth and leather seat upholstery. The Composition Media infotainment system can also be selected with a Discover Media navigation system.
With this, Volkswagen has brought Car-Net, featuring Guide & Inform, and App Connect smartphone integration to the Golf Cabriolet. Guide & Inform allows the use of Internet-based information channels, which include Online Traffic Information, News, the Vehicle Status Report and Weather.
The engines are based on the older VW Golf MK VI, and are now available in Euro-6 compliant units. There are four TSI petrol engines: 105 PS (77 kW) 1.2-liter, a 125 PS (92 kW) 1.4-liter, 150 PS (110 kW) 1.4-liter and a 220 PS (162 kW) 2.0-liter. The diesel gets two TDI units producing 110 PS (81 kW) and 150 PS (110 kW).
