The new IMV products are expected to get car-like interiors.
Seen here is a comparison of the interior of the forthcoming 2016 Toyota Hilux Revo and its predecessor, the Hilux Vigo.
The Hilux Vigo shares its interior with the current generation Fortuner, apart from sharing platforms and drivetrains. Where the outgoing Hilux and Fortuner have a typical utility vehicle look to their interiors, the next generation models get a car-like interior with enhanced comfort and features.
The steering wheel appears a tad shorter in diameter and gets recessed palm grips for better comfort, apart from integrated controls for the music system. Up front, the instrument binnacle sports a larger multi-information display, which is expected to feed the driver with information like instantaneous fuel economy, average fuel efficiency, distance to empty and service interval reminder.
The central HVAC vents on the new Hilux Revo resemble that of the new Corolla as does the finishing on the central part of the dashboard. A large touchscreen display gives the impression of a 'floating' console, below which Toyota have placed the HVAC controls.
