Debuts Toyota's new 'GD' range of diesel engines.
Seen here is the 2016 Toyota Hilux Revo, which will be revealed in Thailand on May 21, 2015.
The design of the front fascia subscribes to modern day Toyotas like the Corolla for example. The flared light clusters are joined by a four-slat chrome grille lending the Hilux a butch appearance. The sides of the new Hilux can be easily mistaken for the current generation model, as they continue to feature plain, crease-less surfaces.
When viewed from the rear, one could also mistake the new Hilux Revo for its predecessor as the design of the taillights are similar, but the Revo could get LED units. Inside, a spyshot has shown the new Hilux to get a large touchscreen display, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a well laid out center console with buttons for the HVAC.
Powering the Hilux Revo will be Toyota's new 'GD' range of diesel engines which comprises of a 2.4- and 2.8-liter unit. The petrol Hilux Revo will carry over the 2.7-liter four-cylinder unit from its predecessor.
The Hilux Revo will launch in three bodystyles - Double Cab (D-Cab), Smart Cab (C-Cab) and Single Cab (B-Cab) - spanning a total of 31 variants. Production at Toyota's Thailand plant is well underway, and according to reports, dealership dispatch has also started.
