The 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine produces 145 cv (106 kW/145 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm and can be specified with either a 6-speed manual transmission or the X-Tronic continuously variable transmission. The 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine develops 170 cv (126 kW/170 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 233 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm and is mated to the X-Tronic continuously variable transmission as standard.

While the mechanical specifications haven't been confirmed for the country, the Brazilian publication says that their version's key features will include blind spot warning and lane departure, six airbags, stability control, traction control, fatigue detection, automatic high beam, an 8.7-inch display for the infotainment system and Bose sound system.

The Renault Kaptur will be priced from R$80,000 (INR 16,42,095.4), as per the report. It will be powered by the 2.0-litre flex-fuel engine of the Renault Duster. Previously it has been reported that there will be a Nissan-sourced 1.6-litre engine also available, but it will be introduced in the second half of the next year. The Renault Kaptur will be made in Brazil, but the Renault Koleos will be sourced from the Busan plant in South Korea.
