The 2016 Mercedes E Class will be unveiled at 2016 NAIAS in Detroit on January 11.

Reasserting the inspiration from the Mercedes C and S Class models, the sketch shows the new E Class adopting a familiar design, but with a sloping roofline that is typical of a four door coupe much like the CLS. The interior, which has been unveiled online, is also inspired by the C and S.

The cabin of the 2016 E Class is reminiscent of the S Class' as the dual digital display and the four air vents at the centre of the dashboard are derived from the flagship saloon. The base variant is would be equipped with an analog instrument cluster instead of the extended digital screen.
