Bold design falls in-line with the Lexus's latest range.
The fourth generation Lexus RX has made its European debut at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt, following its world premiere at the 2015 New York Auto Show. It is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of 2015, and the variant showcased is the Lexus RX450h.
The exterior of the new Lexus RX drawn heavy influence from the company’s latest design philosophy, as seen in the characteristic Lexus Spindle grille, sleek headlamps with LED DRLs and an aggressive lower bumper. It features a floating roof design, LED taillights and dual exhaust tips. The 2016 Lexus RX is larger than the previous generation model, with a 50.8 mm increase in wheelbase.
The 2016 Lexus RX comes with a premium and well-kitted interior, highlights being a flowing center console with silver trim, an analog clock between the central HVAC vents, new 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel design, and dual tone leather upholstery.
It is also equipped with a 12.3 inch Lexus Enform infotainment display as standard, which is navigated via a mouse controller on the floor console.
Under the hood, the 2016 Lexus RX450h packs a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 313 PS. Other European markets will get the less-powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque, and a 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of 300 PS and 361 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
