Features a revised front fascia and new dashboard inside.
HCIL will reveal the 2016 Honda Brio on October 4 to the media, shortly after which the car will go on sale. Initial stocks of the facelifted hatchback have already started arriving at dealerships and revealed the changes introduced as part of the mid-cycle refresh.
The most noticeable change is the front fascia, which is identical to the Honda Amaze facelift launched earlier this year. The new Brio features a larger radiator intake, faux intakes that house foglamps, and a bolder grille with gloss black trim and a chrome underline. No changes have been made to the rear or even the alloy wheel design.
Another significant change is the dashboard, which is lifted off the Honda Amaze and BR-V. The new Brio adopts an all black with faux silver embellishers and a mix of matte plastic and piano black trim materials.
The instrument binnacle is now a single unit with new dials but it doesn’t get the large MID with FE meter found in bigger Hondas (except Mobilio). The top-end VX grade now comes equipped with automatic climate control, Honda Connect mobile services, steering-mounted buttons and a new 2-DIN audio system with bluetooth streaming and telephony.

The facelifted Brio will continue sourcing power from a 1.2L i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 88 PS and 109 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard, while it’s unclear if Honda will replace the 5-speed AT for the Amaze’s CVT option. A diesel-powered variant will not be available.
