To get a more powerful engine.
The 2016 Hero Hunk (facelift) could be launched in a few days as the company has updated the website with the photos and specifications of the new version. The model year upgrade includes a more powerful engine from the Hero Xtreme Sports, and mild cosmetic changes.
The visual changes on the upcoming Hunk include a black theme on the lower part of the motorcycle, and a new decal on the fuel tank shrouds. The black theme includes the suspension components - the fork and rear shocks, a gloss black heat shield on the silencer, and the alloy wheels. The instrument cluster is also revised which gets a side stand warning. Parts such as the headlamp, taillamp, handlebar and the fuel tank are left unchanged.
The powertrain is carried over from the Hero Xtreme Sports. It is a 149.2 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with an OverHead Camshaft and an AMI – Advanced Microprocessor Ignition System, that produces 15.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 13.50 Nm at 7,000 rpm. It gets a new viscous air filter and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
