Fuel consumption has improved by 21 percent.
Audi has conducted the world premiere of the all-new 2016 Audi A4, ahead of its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year.
Starting with the design, the new A4 sedan has the best drag co-efficient in its class at 0.23, says Audi. The front sees the new Singleframe grille and optional LED or Matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn signals.
While the new A4 measures longer than the previous model at 4.73 meters in length and 2.82 meters in wheelbase, the overall weight has gone down by 120 kg, thanks to "an intelligent material mix and lightweight construction".
To outline a few technologies of the new A4, the sedan is now equipped with a new MMI touch interface with an 8.3-inch screen, Audi's Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster with a 12.3 inch LCD, a smartphone interface, a Bang & Olufsen Sound System with 3D sound, an Audi phone box with wireless charging, and a head-up display.
Coming to the engines, the most frugal model of the new A4 has CO2 emissions of only 95 g/km. The engine options consist of new generation four-cylinder TFSI engines, four-cylinder TDI diesels, and range-topping six-cylinder TDI diesel engines with a maximum power output of 272 hp. Overall fuel consumption has improved by 21 percent.
The new A4 will offer three transmission options - a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed S-Tronic and an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox. The 7-speed S-Tronic will also be made available on the front-wheel drive variants of the car, while Audi will continue to offer its optional Quattro AWD system.
The new A4 is expected to launch in the Indian market in the first half of 2016. The sedan will continue to be assembled at the Aurangabad plant of the carmaker. Further details are available in the press release below.
