New A4 will be 50 kg lighter according to reports.
Audi is working on replacements for the Q7, A4 and R8 at the moment. The new Q7 will be revealed at the Detroit Motor Show next year, and that will be followed by the next generation A4, while the R8 successor will land on the market in 2016.
Seen here are renderings of the new A4 by DesignRM. The front fascia of the new A4 reminds us of the A6 facelift which had its public reveal at the Paris Motor Show this month, with its sharply cut Matrix LED headlights, the trapezoidal 'Bulgarian Beard', and rectangular airdams.
The side profile of the A4 doesn't see major changes, but the rear with newly designed LED taillights, a bootlid with an integrated spoiler and black underlip for the bumper certainly give a fresh look.
The new A4 will be based on the MLB Evo platform, and weigh 50 kg lighter than the current generation model. The modular platform is expected to make the car stiffer and better to handle, according to early reports.
Under the hood, the A4 for the Indian market is expected to continue with the 2.0-liter TDI and TFSI engines. A more powerful 3.0-liter V6 TDI can also be expected, as Audi used to offer it in India. The Multitronic transmission would be replaced for a more modern DSG though.

The A4 is assembled from CKD kits at Audi's Aurangabad plant, and this will continue post the launch of the new model in India in late 2015 or in 2016.
