To come with the same engines as Swift.
Images of the Maruti Baleno are now available, as the company is conducting the media drive event in the city of Jaipur.
The exterior of the Baleno, in its top-end Alpha variant, gets projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels (albeit not diamond-cut), chrome door handles with keyless entry, rear wiper and washer and LED taillights.
Inside, the Baleno gets an all-black dashboard with a 3-spoke steering wheel, borrowed from the Swift. The instrument cluster gets Blue illumination and also features a color TFT screen with real time display. Moving to the center console, the Baleno gets a touchscreen Maruti SmartPlay entertainment system with integrated GPS navigation and a reverse camera. The system also supports Apple CarPlay.
Other noteworthy features include automatic climate control, steering mounted audio and phone controls, automatic headlights and automatic day/night rear view mirror. All variants of the Baleno get ABS, EBD and dual front airbags as standard.
The Baleno petrol is powered by the 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine capable of 84.3 PS and 115 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 5-speed manual and a CVT, the latter being available exclusively on the Delta variant. The 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine develops 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque, and is matched to a 5-speed manual. The fuel efficiency figures are yet to be disclosed.
