Update - The 2015 model year Santa Fe has been on sale in India since the last week of February 2015, a spokesperson for the company told IndianAutosBlog.

No cosmetic or mechanical changes.

Hyundai Motor India will soon introduce a minor update for its flagship offering, the Santa Fe SUV. Launched at the Auto Expo 2014 in February, the Santa Fe for 2015 will be given two additional features, but no cosmetic revisions.

Hyundai will provide free map updates for 3 years from the vehicle's purchase.

For the 2015 model year, the Santa Fe in India will be equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen navigation system with Voice Assist, DVD/USB/AUX-in/Bluetooth/iPod, and the convenience of automatic headlights.

There are no mechanical changes to the 2015 Santa Fe, and it will continue to be offered with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine capable of 197 PS and 445 Nm of torque (429 Nm of torque in case of the manual transmission variant). The manual variant, offered exclusively with 2WD, gets a 6-speed unit while the automatic transmission is offered in 2WD and 4WD variants with a 6-speed torque converter.

Hyundai will be marketing the 8-inch media nav unit as the 'largest in segment', and will also provide free map updates for 3 years after the vehicle's purchase.

During our review of the Santa Fe back in March 2014, we had pointed out that the most expensive offering from Hyundai in India misses out on features like automatic headlights and automatic day/night rear view mirror, which are offered even on mid-variants of the i20.

And while the 2015 model year will keep the buzz around the Santa Fe, Hyundai has started testing a facelift for the SUV in Korea, with an international launch expected to take place by the end of this year.
