India-made LHD Suzuki Ciaz with 100 hp launched in Mexico - IAB Report

The India-made Suzuki Ciaz has been launched in Mexico and Dubai, in petrol versions, and in the LHD form.

In Mexico, the Ciaz gets a bump in power (to 100 hp) with ECU retuning.

In Mexico, the car is available in two trims: GLS and GLX. It draws power from the familiar 1.4-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine (K14B) that makes 100 hp @ 6,000 rpm (compared to 91.1 hp of the Indian model) and 132.8 Nm @ 4,000 rpm (compared to 130 Nm on the Indian model). Both 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual gearbox choices are available on the car.

Prices start at 194,900 pesos (INR 8.1 lakhs) for the manual GLS and goes up to 239,900 pesos (INR 9.97 lakhs) for the GLX Automatic, with a mileage of 19.3 km/l and 19.4 km/l respectively.

The only body change on the export-spec Ciaz is the absence of the Maruti badge.

In Dubai, the variants are named GL and GLX, and the car is only available with the 4-speed automatic gearbox. Maximum power is rated at 94 hp @ 6,000 rpm while maximum torque is pegged at 130 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. Prices start at AED 45,500 (INR 7.69 lakhs).

In terms of dimensions, the car is 4,490 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, and 1,485 mm in height, with a luggage capacity of 510 litres.

Dual airbags, ABS and EBD are the available safety features. The 'SmartPlay' infotainment system is unavailable on the export spec cars.

The car was launched in India in October last year, and was recently offered with a new top-spec Z+ trim which brought 16-inch alloys, leather upholstery, and a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system.
