New XC90 to be revealed to the media in Sweden this month.
The second generation Volvo XC90 will have its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October this year, prior to which the car will be revealed to the international media in Stockholm. Indian Autos Blog learns through sources that the new XC90 will be showcased in India early next year (likely in February 2015) ahead of a launch that will take place in mid-2015 (deliveries likely to start before September 2015).
Based on an all-new SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform, Volvo revealed the headlights of the SUV earlier this month, while the interior and some technology information were disseminated over the course of the past two months.
Powering the new Volvo will the company's new range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. Volvo has already announced that the range topping T8 trim will carry a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged petrol hybrid engine capable of producing 400 bhp and 640 Nm of torque, making the XC90 the world's most "powerful and cleanest SUV" according to the company.
Volvo India will have to bring it along the CBU route as the company doesn't have a car assembly plant in India.
