Mileage calculated by internal tests.
TVS Motor Company has launched an updated version of its commuter motorcycle, the TVS Sport. The model which earlier claimed a mileage of 87.7 km/l, now returns 95 km/l in the company's version of the standard drive cycle conditions.
The TVS Sport’s DuraLife Engine has been optimised for reduced friction and stress to achieve higher efficiency and lower fuel consumption. The motor features Chrome Plated Piston rings and Roller Cam follower for lesser operational friction. The ignition timing has been revised corresponding to the low overall dry mass, which also contributes to the improvement in mileage, says the company.
In addition, the entry-level motorcycle has been updated with new features and styling. It now has a sporty instrument cluster, all gear electric start, aluminum grab rail, and chrome muffler guard. The model is available in five colours, including red, blue, black, white and grey, all of which feature contrasting body graphics.
The TVS Sport is powered by a 99.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 7.5 PS maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 7.5 Nm peak torque at 5,000 rpm, mated to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox.
The base version of the bike is priced at INR 36,880 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
