Ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show, Porsche have revealed the 2015 Cayenne facelift with minor updates to its exterior, interior and powertrains.
On the outside, the refreshed model gets a new grille and front bumper, new contouring on the bonnet and active air shutters within the grille (which are claimed to enhance engine cooling). The headlights are subtly revised as well, and all variants of the Cayenne come fitted standard with Xenon lights, while the top-end model gets an LED lighting system.
Changes at the rear come in the form of revised taillights and better integrated exhausts and registration plate enclosure. Inside, the Cayenne comes with a new steering wheel which resembles that of the flagship 918 Spyder. The rear seats now offer ventilation.
On the mechanical front, minor improvements have been made to the diesel variants. The base 3.0-liter diesel makes an additional 16 PS and 16 Nm of torque at 258 PS (254.3 bhp) and 579 Nm of torque, and is now quicker from 0-100 km/h by 0.3 seconds and faster by 1.6 km/h at 219.2 km/h. The Cayenne S diesel which gets a 4.2-liter V8 motor has its power output upped by 3 PS to 380 PS (374.65 bhp). The V8 diesel is quicker to 100 km/h by 0.4 seconds now.
The Cayenne S which used a naturally-aspirated 4.8-liter V8 petrol now gets the Macan's 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6. Making 414 PS (408.1 bhp) and 550 Nm of torque, the new engine has increased numbers by 20 PS and 50 Nm. The added power makes the new Cayenne S quicker, faster and more efficient than its outgoing model.
The Cayenne will start European deliveries from October. Expect the refreshed model to quickly arrive in India as the Cayenne is a CBU offering. More details in the press release below.
