Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2015 Maruti Dzire (facelift) at INR 5.07 lakh - 6.80 lakh for petrol variants and INR 5.99 lakh - 7.81 lakh for the diesel variants (ex-showroom Delhi).
On the outside, the vehicle gets a new bumper, restyled headlamps with smoked innards, chrome grille, chrome lined fog lamp housing, and new design alloy wheels, and power folding ORVMs with turn indicators. The sub-4 meter sedan will be available in four new colours taking the palette to a total of seven paint options, namely Alp Blue, Cave Black, Magma Grey, Sangria Red, Pearl Arctic White, Silky Silver, and Prime Pacific Blue (the last three being old shades).
The update hasn't left the interior ignored, either. MSIL mentions the use of new upholstery, presence of accessory socket at both front and rear, multifunction steering wheel with audio and Bluetooth controls on it. There's also a push button start, reverse parking sensors, and remote bootlid opener, as reported earlier.
Engine options for the 2015 Dzire continue to be the 1.3-litre DDiS (Fiat) diesel engine that makes 75 PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm; and a 1.2-litre K-series VVT petrol unit that now makes 84.3 PS at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm (lower power and higher torque than the outgoing model). A 5-speed gearbox comes standard on both units, while a 4-speed automatic gearbox is available with the petrol.
Claimed to be the most fuel efficient sedan in India, the Dzire facelift returns a fuel economy of 26.59 km/l on diesel, which is an improvement of 13 per cent over the previous model; and 20.85 km/l on petrol, which is an improvement of over 9 per cent (both figures ARAI certified).

Talking of trims, there are eight in total: four for petrol including an Automatic-gearbox equipped variant, and three in diesel. The improvement in fuel efficiency is due to the increased compression ratio in petrol engine, while in case of the diesel, it's down to the use an an advanced thermal management system, low friction engine oil, and improved fuel injection system, says the company.
