Over 27,000 units sold in the US alone.
The Mercedes CLA compact luxury sedan has reached a global sales milestone of 1 lakh units since its launch in April 2013. The four-door coupe is popular especially in USA and Germany.
Slowly and steadily, the MFA platform-based compact models are becoming the main growth drivers for the German brand. So far, Mercedes has sold over 8,00,000 compact cars which include the A and B Class, CLA, and GLA. This year alone, the front wheel driven Mercs clocked over 2,50,000 units worldwide.
The CLA is the first car from Mercedes to be available in the US under USD 30,000 and has received a very good response. Since its launch in the country almost a year ago, over 27,000 units were sold, however, in the recent months, the stylish coupe started loosing out to the newly arrived Audi A3 sedan.
In India, the ranging topping CLA 45 AMG has already been launched and the company has announced that the regular variants would be launched by January 2015 (180 days from the CLA 45 AMG launch).
