The latest market to get the Hyundai Grand i10 is South Africa, where Hyundai launched the car earlier this month. The Grand i10 is available in South Africa in three trim options and two gearbox options. The engine used on the car is the 1,248 cc Kappa engine, which is larger than the Indian car’s 1,197 cc engine.
As a result, the South African Grand i10 produces 86 hp and 120 Nm of torque, as compared to the Indian model which makes 82 hp and 116 Nm of torque. The gearbox choices though are identical to the Indian model and offer 5 speeds for manual and 4 for automatic. The South African model claims to achieve 16.94 km/l for the manual and 14.49 km/l for the automatic.
On the outside and inside, the South African Grand i10 is similar to the Indian model. The only difference on the inside is that the dashboard can be specced in three colors – red, orange and gray.
Feature wise, there are a few differences on the South African model. To start with, all three variants come with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, alloy wheels and Bluetooth as standard. Also, Hyundai offers a standard 5 years/150,000 km warranty on the car, while service intervals are at 15,000 km.
The Grand i10 is priced between 139,900 Rand and 159,900 Rand (INR 7.81 lakhs to INR 8.92 lakhs).
