VW dealers have started accepting bookings for the refreshed 2014 VW Polo, ahead of its market launch which will take place on July 15. The booking amount is INR 50,000, and deliveries are promised soon after the car's launch.
Dealers inform Indian Autos Blog that the 2014 Polo will go on sale in three trim variants - Comfortline, Highline and Highline+. The base Trendline variant would be discontinued.
Dealers across the country unanimously confirm that the diesel variant of the Polo will feature a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine which will be offered in two power states. According to the dealers, VW officials have hinted that the diesel motor will produce 90 PS and 105 PS, with the more powerful engine set to get the 'GT TDI' branding. An automatic gearbox on the diesel Polo will not be offered.
To recap the refreshed Polo, the hatchback will be seen with redesigned bumpers, chrome-enclosed foglight enclosures, new mirror elements for its headlights, a new body color, a new 3-spoke steering wheel and a silver insert for the center console.
The 2014 Polo made its international debut at the Geneva Motor Show this year. European deliveries of the hatchback commenced last month.
