Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced its plans for the Auto Expo 2014 which starts next week. A total of 17 vehicles will be displayed by the Japanese carmaker at the show.
Of particular importance to the Indian market is the new 2014 Corolla Altis and the Etios Cross. The new Corolla will have its Indian debut at the show, while sales of the sedan will commence later on this year.
TKM will most likely carry over the engines from the current Corolla. This includes a 1.4-liter four-cylinder diesel engine which produces 88.4 PS of power and 205 Nm of torque, and a 1.8-liter Dual VVT engine producing 140 PS and 173 Nm of torque.
The Etios Cross on the other hand can be described as Toyota's lazy way of entering the crossover segment. Essentially, the Etios Cross features a tough-looking body kit and hopes to lure buyers with its rugged look. Mechanically though, it will retain the underpinnings and engines of the Etios Liva hatchback.
Toyota will also show its GT 86 sportscar at the Auto Expo. Winning the hearts of many for its affordable pricing and fun-to-drive nature, this is one Toyota we are looking forward to ourselves.
Other exhibits from the brand will include the Hiace, the refreshed Prado, the LC 200 SUV, Camry Hybrid, Prius, and mainstream models such as the Innova, Fortuner and Etios.
