After making its world debut at the New York Auto Show in March, the 2014 Kia Optima got its European motorshow debut at Frankfurt.
The facelifted Optima has subtle visual refinements to the front and rear fascias. The headlamps are now bestowed with integrated daytime LED running lights, and the bumpers are new.
At the rear, the LED taillights get redesigned. The restyling was tasked to the South Korean carmaker's Frankfurt design studio.
The refreshed car keeps the same interior but the equipment level has been enhanced. The instrument console now has a 4.3-inch TFT display, which can be upgraded to an 8" touchscreen multimedia infotainment system.
The 2014 Kia Optima is available in three trims - LX, EX, SX and SX-Limited. Engine options are a 162PS 2.0-litre and a 180PS 2.4-litre GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) motor. Both motors can be mated either to a 6-speed Sportmatic automatic or a manual transmission. The third variant, the Optima hybrid, is powered by the 2.4-litre GDI supported by a 47hp electric motor.
